Mahmoud Kifa Issa, his wife Kadija Majed al Hosni and son Kifah Mahmoud Issa are Syrian refugees who fled to Lebanon because of the civil war. His parents live in east Regina.  Mahmoud speaks and reads some english.  He had been attending university before fleeing Syria.
To get the sponsorship started, a year of living expenses needs to be raised.  That's $26,000 to be given out as follows:
  • $4,400 for the first month when they arrive
  • $2,200 per month for the remainder of the year.
We can also help, once they arrive, by helping them set up a home with furniture, kitchen items, and clothing.  As the family settles in, depending on the involvement of his parents in Regina, we can help with searching for work, finding a doctor and dentist.  There will likely be other ways we can help them settle into life in Regina.
